JANA S. AMES, J.D.

Jana joined The WJF Institute in 2002 as an instructor for the introductory workshop, Client Development and Relationship Management.

Jana currently is President and Founder of LegalWorks, Inc., a Texas corporation providing law firms and corporate legal departments with best practices processes and technology solutions. Prior to forming LegalWorks, Jana consulted to the legal industry as Vice President of PowerBrief, Inc., an online document and matter management company, and as Managing Director and National Client Services Director for Co-Counsel (now Ajilon Legal), a nationwide legal staffing and recruitment firm. Jana also was the Marketing Director for Houston's Brown, Parker & Leahy, L.L.P. (now Thompson & Knight LLP).

After law school, Jana was a briefing attorney for the Honorable Judge Randolph Wheless, Jr., former Chief Bankruptcy Judge, United States District Court, Southern District of Texas. Jana then practiced transactional law with the law firm of Fouts and Moore, LLP.

Jana has spoken at a number of legal industry conferences, including the LawNet, the American Corporate Counsel Association (ACCA) and the American Bar Association. She serves as a sub-chair on the National ABA Litigation Committee, as a member on the National ACCA Litigation Committee, and as Second Vice President of the Houston ACCA Chapter.
